Hosting is only half of it. Everything below is managed by us as part of the plan, so you don't have to manage the hosting environment yourself.
Talk to us about HostingWe manage the hosting environment, server configuration and ongoing maintenance, so you don’t have to think about what’s happening behind the scenes.
Daily automated backups kept off-server, with restores handled by us for files, database, or your entire site.
Server-level security provides malware scanning, threat detection and protection against malicious traffic, with Cloudflare WAF providing an additional security layer in front of the website.
LSCache, object caching, image delivery and PHP settings configured per site rather than left on defaults.
Checks every minute from multiple locations. If your site goes down, we're alerted so we can investigate and take action.
Direct access to DevEdge for hosting support, without scripted first-line responses or unnecessary support layers.
A standard website migration is included with every plan. We plan the move to minimise disruption, and nothing changes on your live site until the new copy has been tested.
We look at your current setup, size, traffic and plugins, and recommend the right plan.
Your site is copied to the new server and tested on a temporary URL, covering forms, checkout and key site functionality.
Once testing is complete, DNS is switched with SSL in place and the migration is scheduled to minimise disruption.
We monitor the site closely after the move and fine-tune caching where required. Where possible, we recommend keeping the previous hosting active during the initial transition period. Larger or more complex moves are covered by our Website Migration service.
Core features included across our managed hosting plans, without charging extra for the essentials.

A standard WordPress website migration is included with every hosting plan. We'll copy and test the site before switching it over to minimise disruption. Larger, multi-site or more complex migrations may need additional work, which we'll discuss with you before anything chargeable is carried out.
It depends on your website, traffic and workload. Our standard Managed Hosting plans suit most business and brochure websites, while Performance Hosting is designed for more demanding dynamic sites. WooCommerce stores have dedicated hosting options, and higher-traffic or resource-intensive websites can move to VPS, VDS or dedicated infrastructure. If you're unsure, we'll review your site and recommend the most appropriate plan.
Yes. You can move to a higher hosting plan as your traffic, storage or resource requirements grow. If your website outgrows shared hosting altogether, we can also move it onto VPS, VDS or dedicated infrastructure.
Our hosting services are provided on a 12-month rolling contract, with monthly or annual payment options available. The service renews automatically and can be cancelled by giving at least 30 days' written notice before the renewal date. Full details are set out in our Hosting Terms & Conditions.
Our managed WordPress hosting is available on UK-based infrastructure. Where a project has specific performance, resilience or geographic requirements, we'll recommend the most appropriate hosting environment.
You'll have access to the tools appropriate to your hosting plan, including cPanel where provided. Server-level administration remains managed by DevEdge on managed environments. VPS, VDS and dedicated requirements can be discussed individually where a different level of access is needed.
Our hosting includes server-level security, malware scanning and Cloudflare protection designed to reduce the risk of malicious activity. If we detect a security issue, we'll investigate the hosting environment and help determine the appropriate next steps. Website-level malware cleanup or remediation may require additional work or an active Website Support plan.
Yes. Email hosting for your domain is included with our managed hosting plans, with multiple mailboxes available subject to the resources and fair-use limits of the service. If you need Microsoft 365 or more advanced business email requirements, we can help with those separately.
Automated off-server backups are taken daily as part of our managed hosting service. Backup retention and restore options may vary by hosting environment, and we'll cover the precise backup arrangements in the Hosting Terms.
DevEdge hosting is managed rather than simply providing you with server space. We configure the hosting environment, security, backups, caching and monitoring for you, with LiteSpeed Enterprise, NVMe storage and Cloudflare protection available across our managed infrastructure. You also get direct technical support from DevEdge when you need help.
Hosting management covers the server and hosting environment rather than ongoing WordPress maintenance. If you'd like us to manage WordPress core, plugin and theme updates, security checks and ongoing website maintenance, this is available through our Website Support plans.
Yes. SSL certificates are included and automatically renewed while your website remains hosted with us, helping keep connections between your website and its visitors encrypted.
Hosting provides the infrastructure your website runs on, including server management, backups, hosting security, performance configuration and uptime monitoring. Website Support looks after the WordPress website itself, including software updates, application-level security, troubleshooting, changes and ongoing maintenance. You can use DevEdge Hosting without Website Support, or combine both for infrastructure and website-level management.
Managed Hosting is designed for typical WordPress websites on our standard infrastructure. Performance Hosting runs on our separate low-density DDR5 platform and provides greater resources for demanding dynamic websites. VPS provides a managed virtual server for workloads that need more capacity, while VDS provides dedicated, unshared resources for websites and applications that need greater isolation and consistent performance. We'll recommend the appropriate environment based on your workload rather than simply putting you on the most expensive option.
